Job Description
As an Estimator, you are responsible for completing material take-offs and generating associated purchase orders for house files.

Responsibilities 
  • Develop and maintain computerized estimates and pricing for floorplans, building options, and elevations.
  • Provide support to Sales department by responding in a timely manner to requests for pricing. 
  • Assist in maintain options price lists for Sales department.
  • Maintain plan specifications.
  • Prepare accurate building material purchase orders for all homes.
  • Approve invoices generated from estimating purchase orders.
  • Update and maintain pricing and database.
  • Complete custom price requests.
  • Prepare cost variance analysis.
  • Ensure cost efficiency by investigating relevant cost-effective solutions.
Qualifications
  • Post secondary certificate or diploma in Estimating, Architectural Technology or Construction preferred.
  • 2+ Years work experience in estimating.
  • Must have experience reading and understanding house plans.
  • Professional & effective communication skills (verbal & written) in English.
  • Ability to work in a high stress, fast-paced, team-oriented environment showing initiative and a strong attention to detail.
  • Time management, prioritization, multitasking, and strong organizational skills.
  • Effective critical thinking, problem solving and conflict management skills.
  • Advanced computer skills – MS Office (Word, Excel, One Note, Outlook), Sales Simplicity, Timberline Estimating, Builder MT and other relevant software.
  • You must have solid knowledge of residential construction processes, building materials, building codes, and technologies.
