POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Logistics Technician is responsible for materials Equipment, warehouse management, will call management receiving, delivery support, material handling, and vehicle maintenance. In addition, the Technician will help with handling service calls for customers having problems with prior installations (or parts) and resolve issues on site to the client’s satisfaction. The Technician loads and unloads trucks and makes deliveries as per the schedule.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
ATTENDANCE - Regular and predictable attendance is required for this position; the scheduled hours for this position are 7:30am – 4:30pm. This schedule is open to change as needed for the completion of Company work, and it is to be set by management.
TRUCK PREPARATION – The Technician ensures trucks are fully loaded with all required materials and tools for each job, verifying order completeness to avoid repeat trips and delivering on time per instructions.
CLIENT RELATIONS – The Technician professionally engages with clients to uphold Mountain View’s reputation, ensures clear communication and demonstration of products, secures necessary signatures and payments, and promptly reports any issues to the Logistics Manager.
SERVICE CALLS – The Technician conducts on-site service calls to assess and resolve issues with windows, doors, or hardware, either completing repairs immediately or documenting the problem and required materials for follow-up, while ensuring the site is clean, the customer signs off, and photos are taken for records.
MATERIAL DELIVERIES – After receiving the Delivery Schedule, the Technician reviews the Purchase Order for a material count and gathers the order and loads the truck. The Technician secures the items and delivers a complete order to the job site, prior to sign-off and collection for the amount due.
TEAMWORK – The Technician fosters respectful teamwork, takes accountability, and collaborates with the logistics team to resolve issues before escalating to management.
SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS – The Technician may be assigned special projects and other related duties to handle. The Technician will maintain company vehicles including service, cleaning, maintenance, and proper signage.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE FOR THE JOB:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience required in the construction industry.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Attention to details, accurate measurements and thoroughness of work coupled with efficiency.
Basic math skills that include adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Prior use with a tape measure, converting metrics to fractions, and calculating percentages and angles.
Able to read and write and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos; speak effectively and present information to customers and other co-workers with prior experience in customer relations and service.
Basic computer skills, including electronic mail, and able to use a web browser to look up parts, maps, etc.
A valid driver’s license in the state of Colorado with a clean driving record is required. Ability to operate and manage the maintenance of company trucks.
Re-glazing windows Certification or achieved within 6 months on the job.
Be knowledgeable in Anderson window and door parts, and how to identify them quickly or pull together all of the elements necessary for quick research.
Ability to see the situation from the customer’s point of view.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
Frequently on your feet.
Lifts and carries items up to 25 lbs. over 2/3rds of the time; up to 50 lbs. frequently; and occasionally 100+ lbs.
A job may require heavy physical activity and strenuous daily activity of a productive nature.
The Technician works above ground, frequently using ladders and scaffolding, with occasional exposure to dimly lit or confined spaces.
Job may require minimal overnight travel on rare occasions.
