Back-end Superintendent

Job Description
General Purpose:

To assist the construction manager with day to day back end supervision and management of our home construction operations to facilitate high quality homes and superior customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Finalize the construction of the home from drywall to Certificate of Occupancy/Closing utilizing a network of trade partners, distributors, and manufacturers.

  • Assist the Construction Manager with supervision and management of project
  • Responsible for the scheduling and management of the home from drywall stock until home orientation punch list is complete and signed off by Buyer
  • Attend all buyer meetings: pre-construction, pre-drywall and home orientation
  • Work with on-site sales team members to ensure Buyer option and change order selections are 100% complete per company established cut off dates
  • Review and understanding of Buyer's options and change order selections and translate to field implementation
  • Communicate schedule, delivery and installation dates of home components with subcontractors to ensure all contractual obligations are satisfied
  • Update schedules and release completed work purchase orders on a daily basis
  • Approve and code monthly subcontractor invoices for billing
  • Interface with Purchasing as required to ensure all home components are properly allocated and accounted for in company systems and budgets
  • Assist construction manager and operations manager in collecting plan redlines and other plan changes as requested from time to time
  • Manage all final municipal field inspections to obtain Certificate of Occupancy prior to home closing date
  • Complete all buyer home orientation walk through lists by closing
  • Attend all mandatory company meetings as requested
  • Enforce and comply with all company, state and federal policies such as OSHA site safety and EPA storm water management programs
  • Willingness to obtain OSHA 10-hour certification
  • Required to initiate and participate in project and home clean-up activities
  • Develop and implement close out process for completed home documentation and records archiving
  • Participation in and management of warranty claims as required from time to time

Education/Experience/License and/or Certificates:

  • The Back-end Superintendent must have a minimum of 1 year successful experience as a Back-end Superintendent for a residential production builder or like experience in a role managing construction projects and working closely with trades, distributors, manufacturers and home buyers
  • The Back-end Superintendent must also have experience with computer systems such as Word and Excel
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or certificate preferred
  • Knowledge of the residential building industry and the ability to use general building tools and equipment
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of building blue prints
  • OSHA 10 Hour certification beneficial
