Job Description
Ascent Builders is seeking a focused, professional Purchasing Manager with experience in the residential home building industry. You will enjoy working with a small, but growing builder that operates throughout the metro Denver area. The successful candidate must possess an enthusiastic attitude with a strong work ethic, great communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and manage trade contractor relationships.
  • Vendor selection and management
  • Manage procurement in the most cost-effective manner
  • Read and thoroughly understand residential blueprints – including takeoffs where required
  • Providing field operations and sales force with required, reliable materials and products
  • Negotiating lower or lowest pricing
  • Manage bid requests for each project and organize and analyze responses
  • Develop project budgets in CoConstruct
  • Managing multiple and changing priorities
  • Development of business processes to increase efficiency
  • Work with the CFO and other executives to establish priorities
  • Assist CFO and other executives with special projects as needed
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Civil Engineering OR related experience
  • One or more years in construction purchasing management to include estimating, construction, negotiation, and purchasing
  • Good computer skills essential; experience in Excel required, and CoConstruct preferred
  • Knowledgeable in all functional areas of a home builder
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Self-directed with disciplined work habits and strong organizational skills
  • Readily adaptable to change
 
Salary Range: $50,000 – 70,000 base, plus merit-based bonuses and benefits
